March 27th and 28th 2010: Warnemünde herring festival
The Warnemünde fish market is dominated by herring. The traditional festival with many specialties and maritime entertainment takes place in spring when the fish is in the high season. Here you can enjoy the herring fresh, smoked or as rollmops.

April 03th 2010: Easter fire with a view of the sea
Every year on Easter Saturday, tourists and holidaymakers climb the lighthouse to enjoy the panoramic view from above. The traditional highlight of the day is the Easter fire on the beach in the evening. Winter is banished with atmospheric music and information on regional Easter traditions. Children can look forward to the torchlight walk.

April 30th to May 2nd 2010 I "River awakening" kicks off the season at Warnemünde
The summer season at the seaside resort of Warnemünde starts with the "River awakening" (Stromerwachen). A long line of market stalls and culinary delights along the Alter Strom and around the lighthouse is a serious draw. Music and entertainment are guaranteed

May 28th 2010 I The 12th classic night at the zoo
Rostock Zoo is again the unusual backdrop for the eleventh Classics night with the North German Philharmonic Orchestra Rostock on May 29th. They will play frensh pieces before the moonlight expedition through the largest zoo on the Baltic Sea coast.

August 5-8th 2010: Hansa sail
700.000 visitors are expected to visit 73th WARNEMÜNDER WOCHE from July 3rd to 11th. Stars of the event are round about 2000 sportsmen which will show excellent sailing skills. Races in 25 different classes with participants from 30 nations take place. Especially exciting will be the International German
Championships in classes as 29er or Flying Dutchman. A highlight will be the long-distance race „Round Bornholm“ with about 60 participating open sea yachts. More information
