Tallink Silja donates money to pediatric surgery

Tallink Silja Oy and The Association of Friends of the University Children's Hospitals (Kummit ry) have signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement, according to which Tallink Silja is the main sponsor in year 2012. Through this cooperation, Tallink Silja supports children and young people in the hospital having surgical treatment.

The first family cruise organized together with The Association of Friends of the University Children's Hospitals will be on M/S Baltic Princess June 5th. Cruise Hostess Mrs Heidi Sohlberg, the symbol of the association, Teemu the teddy bear and Moomin character will offer lots of fun.

Tallink Silja will organize similar cruises during the year several times. Tallink Silja donates a portion of the cruise ticket revenues in full for children's surgical care.

In addition, Teemu the teddy bear will be available for sale on all ships from the beginning of the summer. Tallink Silja is also involved in concerts held by the association as well as in golf event.

Last year the association (Kummit ry) collected 1.4 million Euros for five Finnish children’s hospitals and pediatric research. Participating to the fund raising you have an opportunity to influence lives of young patients and their families.
