Tallink`s Tallinn-Stockholm route cruise ferries will operate to Stockholm’s Värtahamn port instead of Frihamn port starting from 9th of March 2009. Värtahamn port is also used by company’s vessels under Silja Line brand. Due to the change of harbour there will be a slight change also in the schedule of the route.
The departure from Tallinn will remain the same – at 18.00 o’clock local time, but the departures from Stockholm will be 15 minutes earlier (at 17.45) from 9th of March. The arrival times to Tallinn and Stockholm will remain the same, at 10 o’clock local time.
The change of ports in Stockholm will take place before the fleet change on Tallinn-Stockholm route in order to introduce the new destination harbour to the passengers before the high season begins. In coming spring Tallink will bring the brand new cruise ferry Baltic Queen to Tallinn-Stockholm route and replace M/S Regina Baltica with the cruise ferry Romantika on Riga-Stockholm route. Due to the renewal of the fleet, Frihamn port will be too small for Tallink`s new and modern cruise ships.
Frihamn and Värtahamn ports are situated next to each other. As there is a subway station (Gärdet) near to Värtahamn port, the passage to the central town will get more convenient also for those passengers who travel without a car.
