AS Tallink Grupp’s subsidiary Tallink Superfast Ltd. has today taken delivery of a new generation fast ropax M/S Superstar from Fincantieri Cantieri Navali S.p.A. shipyard in Ancona, Italy.
The CEO of AS Tallink Grupp, Mr. Enn Pant says that our year-around Shuttle service which was launched one year ago has proven to be successful. „Now when we will have two vessels of a kind doing as much as ten trips in a day the Shuttle service may become even more popular as the customers will have more choices. It is of importance that all of our Tallinn-Helsinki trips are now conducted by brand new vessels,” Mr. Pant added.
The 175.1 metres long M/S Superstar has capacity for up to 2,080 passengers and 1,930 lane metres for ro-ro cargo. There are 186 cabins with total of 736 beds. The vessels’ service speed is 27.5 knots.
The project cost totals around 120 million euros (1.9 billion EEK) of which 93 million (1.45 billion EEK) was financed from the long-term loan arranged by HSBC Bank, London. The loan which was drawn down at the delivery today has the Italian Export Credit Agency “SACE” guarantee and will be secured with the collateral of new Superstar vessel and the corporate guarantee of AS Tallink Grupp. The loan has fixed interest rate until its final maturity after twelve years. |
