Club Silja - Rules

The terms presented below are valid indefinitely. Silja Line reserves the right to change and interpret all terms concerning Club Silja or to terminate the programme. Information about changes to be made to the programme will be provided to the customer at least three (3) months prior to the change taking effect.

1. GENERAL

Changes in the calculation of points may be made during the period of point validity without prior notice. Silja Line may offer various discount benefits for the different levels of its Club Silja Frequent Traveller programme.

2. MEMBERSHIP AND MEMBERSHIP CARD

2.1.
Club Silja Frequent Traveller membership is free of charge. To be eligible for the programme one must be at least 18 years old, and have a permanent address in Finland, Sweden, Estonia or Germany. The Frequent Traveller special prices are different in different countries. The Frequent Traveller's address in the Club Silja register determines what prices the Frequent Traveller is entitled to.

2.2.
Membership in the Frequent Traveller programme can be obtained by request upon booking tickets or by sending a signed membership form after a trip within three (3) months of the actual date of travel. The Frequent Traveller programme is household-based, and each 18-year-old or older person living in the same household is entitled to hold their own affiliate card. A household comprehends persons living within the same household, at the same address. The persons living in the same household will use the same Frequent Traveller number. A Club Silja Frequent Traveller can only have one Frequent Traveller number.

Companies, associations or organisations are not eligible for the Frequent Traveller programme.

2.3.
The Frequent Traveller membership and the household-based accounting period begins when the customer's information has been registered with the Club Silja Frequent Traveller programme. As a confirmation of registration, Silja Line will send the customer a Frequent Traveller card with a Frequent Traveller number. The Frequent Traveller programme requires that the Club Silja member signs the Club Silja Frequent Traveller card upon reception. The Club Silja Frequent Traveller card is invalid until signed by the cardholder. If required, the Frequent Traveller must be able to identify himself / herself.

The criterions for the different levels are controlled on a monthly basis. The Club Cards for the different levels will be removed if the criterions are not met by the Frequent Traveller, and the card the Frequent Traveller
is entitled to will be sent by post.

2.4.
Lost Club Silja Frequent Traveller cards must be reported immediately to the Club Silja Frequent Traveller Service. Upon reporting the lost card, the member will be sent a replacement card. There is a 10 Eur / 60 Sek / 60 Eek charge for replacement cards.

2.5.
Membership can be terminated any time by writing to the Club Silja Frequent Traveller Service at:

Finland:
Silja Line, Club Silja, P.O. Box 880, FIN-00101 Helsinki.

Sweden:
Silja Line, Club Silja, Positionen 8, 115 74 Stockholm.

Germany:

Club Silja has the right to terminate Frequent Traveller memberships and nullify any points earned, in the event of intentional misuse of the programme. Misuse comprehends the violation of any of the terms found in this guide, general impropriety in the use of the programme and surrender of the Frequent Traveller card for use by a person (or persons) not a member of the cardholder household.

2.6.
The Club Silja Frequent Traveller card is not a debit or credit card.

2.7.
The Club Silja Frequent Traveller is responsible for notifying the Club Silja Customer Service of any changes in name or address. Silja Line reserves the rights to delete a Frequent Traveller number with incorrect contact information unless the Frequent Traveller notifies Silja Line of the correct contact information within 12 months. The member should be aware of any changes made to the Frequent Traveller programme. Information on changes can be found on the Silja Line web site (
www.clubsilja.com), in the Frequent Traveller magazine 'Merellä' and in other Club Silja material.

2.8.
An account statement will be sent to the Club Silja Frequent Traveller at least once every year. The points listed on the statement are approved points. Club Silja reserves the right to remove any points erroneously listed on the account.

3. EARNING POINTS

3.1.
The basic unit of the Club Silja Frequent Traveller programme is a point. The number of points awarded is based on the purchases of tickets and purchases of goods on board Silja Line in EUR/SEK/EEK. The account statement shows all purchases made through Silja Line. Bonus trips can be booked using the points, if nothing else is stated.

3.2.
In order to register points, the customer must provide the Frequent Traveller number when booking a trip and present the Club Silja Frequent Traveller card whenever making any on board purchases. The Club Silja Frequent Traveller card must be presented to the cashier prior to beginning the transaction and at restaurants when ordering. A GLC-card (Group Leader Card) can not be used together with a Frequent Traveller Club card. Points for booking tickets are registered on the account no later than one week from the date of return. No points are earned for only booking or redeeming the ticket. Purchases made on board are only registered upon presentation of the Club Silja Frequent Traveller card. Ticket and on board purchases can not be transferred into points retroactively. Only when initially joining the Club Silja Frequent Traveller programme can points be earned retroactively, but only for the three previous months.

3.3
All Club Silja members living in the same household earn points for that household's account. The main cardholder is the possessor of all points on the card, but both the main cardholder and all affiliate cardholders are entitled to use any points on the account. Points can not be trans-ferred from one Frequent Traveller account to another.

4. BONUS TRIPS

4.1
Points are valid for 36 months from the date of ticket or on board purchase. Bonus trip bookings must be made within the points' period of validity. Outdated, unused points are automatically deleted from the account on a monthly basis. Outdated points will not be returned to the account. Point totals and soon-to-be-outdated points are listed on the account statement and online at:
www.clubsilja.com.

4.2
Bonus trips and free trips do not entitle you to points. Bonus trips purchased partially with points and partially with money can only earn points from the portion of the trip paid for in cash.
