Check-in

Check-in for Tallink ships:

Check- in opens in terminals 1½ hours before and closes 20 minutes before departure, after which time there is no admittance to ship. Passengers with a vehicle must check-in at latest 1 hour before departure in car check-in. The reservations for passengers or vehicles arriving later than these times are no longer valid.

The ticket is changed to boarding cards and possible service coupons for other pre-ordered services in check-in. If the ticket is paid with bank transfer, a receipt must be presernted. If the ticket is paid in the check-in, a service fee of 8€/reservation is charged.

There is a separate service point for groups in check in. The group leader receives with the ticket all boarding cards and possible service coupons for other pre-ordered services. The group leader must check-in latest 1 hour before departure.

Check-in for Silja Line's ships

Passengers will receive a boarding card and a cabin key at the check-in in the terminal. The boarding card has to be shown to the security officer upon embarkation. Passengers will also receive other pre-paid vouchers and coupons, e.g. meal and hotel coupons. The check-in closes at latest 10 minutes prior to the ship’s departure. The ship will not wait for passengers arriving late for check-in and entrance to the ship cannot be guaranteed. Passengers should board the ship in time. Escorts are only permitted to enter the ship in special cases. Each passenger should have official and valid identification document (please see “Proof of identification”).

Required time limit for arriving at the check-in:

Passengers without vehicles:
 
- Helsinki, Stockholm, Tallinn, Mariehamn, and Långnäs: 30 minutes prior to departure at the latest. For Helsinki - Stockholm traffic the check-in starts at 15.00 and boarding at 15.30.
- Turku: one hour prior to departure.

Reservations for passengers arriving later than this will no longer be valid. No refund will be made for unused tickets or coupons. Passengers arriving by train or regular bus service may exceptionally be accepted on board if the situation should permit it.

Passengers with vehicles:

- Helsinki, Stockholm, Tallinn: one hour prior to departure at the latest. (N.b.! passengers travelling from Stockholm to Mariehamn: 1.5 hrs before departure).
- Mariehamn, and Långnäs: 30 minutes prior to departure at the latest (N.b.! in Mariehamn 15.6.-30.8. 45 minutes). Långnäs is situated in Lumparland approximately 30 km east of Mariehamn.

EXCEPTION: Superfast Helsinki - Rostock

HELSINKI
The check-in starts 3 hours before departure. Groups and passengers with a vehicle must check-in at latest 1,5 hours before arrival. The customer may lose one's vehicle reservation if he arrives to the harbor later. Passengers without a vehicle must be in the check-in at least 1 hour before departure. The ship can be boarded approximately 0.5 - 1 hour before depature.

The customer may lose one's vehicle reservation if he arrives to the harbour later.
