Entertainment at M/S galaxy

In spring 2012, it is again possible to enjoy genuine Latino atmosphere on Tallink cruise ships. The theme called FIESTA will arrive together with the spring sun. Professional artistes will arrive from Cuba, Brazil, Spain and Argentina to entertain the passengers. The Tallink ships will bring the best professionals, both in music and dancing, to the Baltic Sea. Singers, pianists, dancers, bigger and smaller groups of musicians will appear on the stage.
Every evening you can enjoy the performances of a large show troupe whose choreographic, melodious and staging level have earned lots of acknowledgement both in their own country as well as internationally.

In addition to the dance troupe, bands and quartets offer entertainment and play music for practicing salsa and getting to know different music styles of Latin America. You can enjoy bolero, bachat, merengu, bossa-nova, son, guaracha and cumbia or learn the most popular dance styles of Cuba, such as cha cha chá, salsa and mambo. Those who are interested can themselves try and practice these dance styles together with a dance master.

An acoustic quartet playing Cuban music and singing Cuban songs moves around on all ships.
Cuban pianists together with a singer play in ships’ piano bars. Their repertory includes pieces of music from Latin America as well as internationally well-known melodies.

Each ship has also an international dance band playing more contemporary dance music, which is not limited to only Latin rhythms. The dance bands of FIESTA theme come from Spain.

You can hear music everywhere on the ship and for people with all kinds of taste. For us, the northerners, everything is exotic and special. A good medicine against spring fatigue is to get a small dose of energy from the hot rhythms on Tallink ships.

Although FIESTA show programme lasts for two and a half months on the ships, i.e. from the middle of March to the end of May, it is worth coming on a cruise several times as the performers will change in April on all the ships, and thus you will have a possibility to experience a completely new side of FIESTA. Cuban, Brazilian, Spanish and Argentinian shows can be seen both on Tallinn-Stockholm and Riga-Stockholm cruise. Tallinn-Helsinki line offers a Cuban show for watching. Helsinki-Stockholm ships will be occupied by flamenco rhythms from Spain and tango melodies from Argentina.

A brief introduction of the show troupes that can be seen on Tallink ships during FIESTA.

A Cuban show troupe Cabaret Parisién de Cuba comes from Havana and their “home ship” is the famous cabaret theatre “Parisién” of Hotel Nacional de Cuba. The troupe’s shows have received the warmest welcome from Cuban home audience as well as from the international audience. The secret of success of the performances lies in their musical and dance-related conception. All the different angles of Cuban folklore are represented but in a lot recent and more contemporary way, which makes the show special and spectacular for the audience. Not to mention the extremely high technical level of the dancers and their fancy costumes.

The other show troupe from Cuba - Cabaret Continental - comes from Varadero and their show speaks about a great and cheerful party, which is guaranteed by the beach, sun and happy Cuban and Caribbean rhythms. The art director of the show, Andrés Antonio Gutiérrez González, is one of the most valued ones in Cuba. He has been the choreographer and art director of the performances in the best cabaret theatres of Cuba. He has also shared his talent in France and the United States of America. Again, first-class dancers and musicians are on the stage.

A troupe Perfordance from Spain brings along a stage version of Spanish folk dance, which is a mixture of flamenco and sevillanas. Spanish show par excellence. You can hear the clattering of castanets and shoe heels and watch a passionate choreography.

A dance troupe - Carnaval Latino - from Brazil offers a spectacular and brilliant performance for watching. Samba rhythms, extraordinarily large and powerful costumes with feathers and various decorations and high-level staging are the keywords characterizing the dance show coming from Brazil.

An Argentinian show - Romantic - brings along the famous Argentine tango with its characteristic sensual and dramatic choreography. The extremely fast feet work and a dialogue between a man and a woman has been danced famous all over the world by the Argentinians.
Gauchos, who are equivalent to the American cowboys, come also from Argentina. The performance of the gauchos involves virtuosic whirling of the stones covered with leather and hanging on ropes, i.e. bolas. This can also be called the lassoing of the Argentinian cowboys. A show is definitely guaranteed!

AS Tallink Grupp reserves the right to adjust the entertainment programme of the ships without prior notice.
