KUnstiMUseum or KUMU - a new ultra-modern arts museum has been opened in Tallinn on 18.2.2006. Kumu is situated in eastern Tallinn, in beutifull area of Kadriorg, near Lasnamäki.

The museum was planned by a Finnish architect, Pekka Vapaavuori. The magnificent building itself (over 36.000 m2) is a sight. In Kumu there are both permanent and temporary exhibitions, auditorium, working rooms for artists, storage, shop, café and a restaurant. In Kumu you can get acquainted with modern, Soviet (1945-1991) and even older paintings.

The museum is open:

May-September: Tue-Sun  11.00-18.00

October-April :Wed-Sun 11.00-17.30

Last admission 17.30

The tickets cost 2-5 €.

It is possible to organise small seminars and other educational events in Kumu, too.
